WWI Dawn Patrol Rendezvous at NMUSAF - Page 1

The granddaughters came over to spend the night so I took them over to the Fly-In at the NMUSAF this morning. The weather was poor with ceilings of about 400-500 feet so no flying was permitted but we still had the opportunity to see quite a few WWI replica aircraft and numerous historical displays. Besides the real aircraft, the event also included R/C aircraft representative of the WWI era. The R/C birds were, of course, permitted to fly.

The Dawn Patrol Rendezvous is one of the nation's premier historical aviation events bringing the excitement of early air power to Dayton, Ohio every two years (this year Sept. 25-27). The three-day event features vintage original and reproduction WWI aircraft, radio-controlled models, era automobiles, period re-enactors and a collector's show. This flying event is sponsored by the Museum and the Great War Aeroplanes Association.

I have included pictures of a few planes on the field.
