Brief Description:  Drilled skins to skeleton and trailing edge

Clecoed the skins to the skeleton. Match drilled the skins to the ribs. Using the skins as guides, drilled the holes through the spar flanges.

While the skins are clecoed to the skeleton, fitted , clamped and drilled the CP-4 trailing edge wedge using the holes in the skin as a guide. These holes must be drilled at the angle shown in the plans. The wedge and skins are not bonded in this project.

Disassembled and deburred all components. Dimpled the remaining holes in the spar, skins and ribs. Used a special dimpling/bucking tool (fabricated) to dimple holes near the trailing edge. Dimpling the spar was accomplished by first dimpling and then enlarging the dimple with a hand deburring tool. This operation is accomplished by eye and tested by dropping a rivet in the hole to check fit. The machine countersink can be used on the trailing edge wedge but be sure to stabilize the wedge before drilling.

Attach the clamping fixture shown in the plans to the work surface with screws or clamps. Cleco the bottom skin to the skeleton and clamp the assembly to the fixture. Riveted the skin to the spar with the flush rivet set and bucking bar.
