Brief Description:  Wiring conduit

While assembly the vertical stabilizer, I wasn't sure whether wiring might be needed in the future. In particular, I was thinking about lighting and/or a possible radio antenna. To allow for the possibility, I decided to put a wiring conduit in the stabilizer. I know some holes with snap bushings would probably work but thought it would be easier to route wires through a continuous channel.

The conduit was fabricated from PVC pipe purchased from the local hardware. I began by cutting it to length, inserting it in the stabilizer through holes enlarged with a unibit, and marking its length. Then, using a hacksaw, I carefully cut a groove around the circumference of the pipe deep enough to accept a snap ring (both ends). To complete the task, I just slid the conduit into place and inserted a snap ring at each end to keep it from moving. If wires are needed in the top of the vertical stabilizer in the future, it should be relatively easy to route them up from the fuselage.
