Brief Description:  Tungsten bar & china marker

I have often read about tungsten bucking bars and their superiority to the standard steel units. Before attempting to rivet the bottom wing skins I decided to purchase at least one small bar hoping it might make this particular task easier. I am expecting some difficult to reach rivets in some tight spots where it may be difficult to hold the steel bars steady, not to mention their lower mass.

The bar shown below was purchased from Webster (buckingbars.net) and measures about 1x5/8x4 with a slight angle on one end. The Webster site indicates that they built an entire RV-8 with just this one bar.

Connie bought me a china marker at a local Hobby Lobby after reading a tip in the EAA Sport Aviation magazine. You can use these markers to make the small engraved identifiers on some drill bits, dies, etc. stand out so they can read easier. My vision is still good but it can be a challenge sometimes reading the tiny numbers on these tools, especially if they have been defaced a little from use.
