Brief Description: Fabricated fixtures to hold wings on work bench
The shop instructions say to remove the wing from the jig and lay it bottom side up on the work bench. It also suggests that the wing be placed on a clean pad to protect the skin surface and be blocked so it is stable. I decided to build a couple fixtures to hold the wing as it lays on the work bench. I used a wing rib to get the correct curve of the upper surface and cut two supports out of particale board. These were fastened to platforms and the load bearing surface was covered with carpet. I will place one of these fixtures at each end of my work bench to support and hold the wing steady.
