Brief Description:  Riveting top skins on port wing

Continued riveting the top skins on the port wing. Our sequence was the inboard skin working from the middle at the main spar then outward and down towards the root and tip leaving the lap joint to the last. After completing the inboard skin we moved on to the outboard skin working in the same pattern.

After most of the rivets were driven in the outboard skin, I set a few of the rivets in the rear spar using the pneumatic squeezer. Most of these rivets are easy to set but the ones at the root where the spar reinforcement bar is located are tricky. Using a special C yoke with no hole in the nose, I was able to get all the rivets except the 4-5 at the extreme root end. There is a reinforcement plate in addition to the reinforcement bar at this location leaving almost no room to access the shop head of the rivet. I plan to set these final rivets after the wing is removed from the jig and placed on the work bench.
