Brief Description:  Fabricating fuel sender float arm and testing

Using the specs from Van's for the Stewart-Warner fuel level sending unit, I bent the float arm and tested the sender in the tank (left). The multimeter indicated the predicted 240 ohms at empty and 30 ohms at full when the float was positioned approximately 1/8" from the tank bottom and top. I bent the float arm as close to Van's measurements as possible and didn't have to adjust the bends.

My sending unit will be mounted on the tank baffle in the second bay. This I will require a wire lead with a connector to run from the sender to the wing root since the sender will be inaccessible once the tank is attached to the wing.

Match drilled to #30 the tank attach bracket, end rib, and nose reinforcement plate.
