Brief Description:  Fitting of fiberglass tips

I spent a little time this morning fitting the fiberglass tips to the left and right elevators. I still have some work to do but they are close. The flanges on the tips are just deep enough that they come in contact with some of the rivet shop heads holding the end ribs and counterweight skins together. The solution is to either sand the entire flange edge down a little or mark the rivet locations on the tip and relieve each location very slightly with a Dremel tool and a small sanding wheel. The Dremel tool solution was quicker for me. I will be doing a bit more fitting of the tips before the drilling and epoxy steps.

I need to determine what type of epoxy to use in fastening the fiberglass to the lead weights and how to finish the raw ends. I am not sure whether these are just finished with bondo and lots of sanding or if some fiberglass cloth procedure is in order.
