You can see from the images below, I chose to purchase the DRDT-2 dimpler rather than use a C-Frame and mallet. It is more expensive but it's an excellent tool and produces very consistent dimples. The plans for the work surface around the dimpler come with the tool and is constructed of particle board covered with outdoor carpet.
The back rivet plate was purchased from Cleaveland and mounted on particle board. The particle board can either be routed to accept the plate or you can use 1/4" project plywood to build up around the plate. I chose to use some 1/4" plywood from Lowes (comes in a 2'x'2' sheet).
