Brief Description:  Riveting of left horizontal stabilizer

Riveted the HS-404 and HS-405 ribs to the front spar assembly. This was accomplished with a combination of squeezing and the rivet gun. Covered the work bench surface with a clean moving blanket to protect the HS-801PP stab skins. Clecoed and riveted the HS-707 (forward mid-rib) to the top of the skin.

Clecoed HS-706 (end rib) to the skin. Temporarily clecoed the HS-708 to the stab skin and the aft flange of HS-707 to help hold the skin tight against HS-707, then riveted the bottom side of HS-707 to the HS-801PP skin. I used the optional MK-319-BS flush blind rivets on the bottom per Van's drawing.

Removed the HS-708 rib and clecoed the forward spar assembly to HS-706, HS-707 and HS-801PP, and then replaced the HS708 rib. Blind riveted the HS-702 to HS-707 and HS-708.

Pictures show skin and skeleton ready to rivet. I placed clecos in every other hole and taped the appropriate sized flush rivet in between. The tape will protect the skin and hold the rivets in place as we rivet, working outward from the middle. I will do the bottom surface first followed by the top. I usually drive a few practice rivets in some shop scrap before working on the actual components (just to be sure the tools are set properly and my touch is correct).
