Built two EAA style work benches. The benches are six feet in length and about 32" high. I added a paper roll holder to one of the benches. This allows periodically covering the table(s) with a clean paper work surface. I use the paper to make notes on and provide some protection to the table top. The work surface was made with 2x6s (choice grade) butted up to each other and tied together by screwing into the table top frame. The tops are finished with a stain and three coats of polyurethane. This construction has worked well in the past but this time, I am not happy with the results. Although the lumber was suppose to be top grade, it shrank and cupped a bit. It is ok for the present but I may replace the tops with some project grade plywood or MDF at a later date. Hopefully, these materials will be more stable. Also, I may replace the rollers with a larger size to make movement a little easier. I used fixed rollers on one end and castering on the opposite.
