I purchased a 12" bandsaw from Sears with the intent of using it for both wood and metal fabrication. As of Mar 2009 it has only been used for wood projects (fixtures, bending blocks, etc.). I use it often as a substitute for the portable table saw which is usually stored elsewhere.
In the second and third images you will see black covers on some tools. I purchased a few low cost quilted moving blankets from Harbor Freight and Connie turned them into covers for some of my bench and floor-standing tools (bandsaw, tablesaw, drill press and DRDT-2 dimpling tool). I have found that polished but untreated and unprotected steel surfaces tend to rust in a cold garage environment in the winter. The covers seem to reduce condensation and rust on the raw surfaces (not 100% effective but helpful).
