Brief Description: Begin initial assembly of left elevator
Clecoed and drilled the reinforcement plates (E-610PP and E-611PP) and platenuts to the E-702 spar web.
Prepared the E-703 and E-704 counterbalance ribs for assembly (edge finishing and fluting). Clecoed and drilled the E-703 rib to the E-704 counterbalance rib and then clecoed and drilled them to the spar (E-702). Removed the ribs from the spar.
Positioned the E-714 weight on the forward end of E-703 and E-704 (see view F-F DW5). Clecoed the E-713 skin to E-703 and E-704 and overtop of the lead weight (E-714).
Using the two holes in the forward face of E-713 as a guide, drilled #12 holes for the screws that will hold the weight (E-714) in place. Used a drill lubricant to drill the lead.
Detached E-713, removed at set aside E-714 (weight), reattached the counterbalnce skin (E-713) to the ribs (E-703 and E-704). Clecoed the counterbalance subassembly to the spar.
Clecoed the E-705 root rib to the spar (E-702).
Final drilled E-705 to E-702 (#40).
Clecoed the elevator skin (E-701-L) to the understructure ensuring the skin lays on top of the counterbalance skin (E-713).
