Another couple days in the hangar with a little progress to show for the effort. The pictures included show the pilot and copilot throttle quadrants fully installed. These assemblies look pretty neat and are well built, however, installing them is a tremendous pain. What you can't see are the three rather large and cumbersome cable assemblies attached to the pilot's levers, the bracket that secures them, and the three clevises with their washers and cotter pins, not to mention a couple hidden AN bolts that were an absolute pain to install and tighten. There is also a sequence to the install that is not documented anywhere that I could find. So, I had to use some trial and error to get it right. I also had to modify the rear quadrant replacing 5 nylock nuts with platenuts (couldn't get nuts started on the back side of the quadrant assembly when installing in the fuselage). Anyway, the two quadrants are installed, adjusted, and they seem to function properly. Just hope I don't have to remove them for any kind of maintenance anytime soon.
Last task for the day was to install an interior panel on the starboard side of the fuselage just to the side of the rudder pedal. There is only about 1/2" clearance between the pedal to cable bolts and not much space to work. Anyway, the panel defines a portion of the forward baggage compartment and provides a surface to mount a heater duct (note the aluminum eyeball vent and control cable). Behind that panel is a scat tube attaching the vent to the heater box mounted on the firewall. Running just beneath the scat tube is the control cable (pull for cabin heat, push to close).
