In an attempt to make the aft end of the canopy skirt fit snugly against the canopy glass with no gapping, I buttered the inside of the spliced skirt with Poly-Fill and clecoed the skirt to the canopy. The "bondo" filled the gap between the skirt and canopy glass completely. Once cured, I will remove the skirt and sand all the edges and remove any excess filler.
After installing the skirt I did some test layups with modeling clay trying to create a mold around the canopy slide where the notch is located on the extreme aft end of the skirt. The idea was to layup some glass cloth on the aft end of the skirt to improve its look. I had little luck with the clay so will have to try again later.
