Brief Description: Completed repair of Spinner & trimmed pants
I received the replacement spinner backplate from Vans so decided to rework the damaged spinner. There was much to do, including cutting the center of the backplate, fitting to the doubler, priming both parts, riveting, match drilling to spinner, installing the nutplates, and then reinstalling the fillets.
Regarding the fillets, I ordered some new .063 aluminum from Van's and fabricated two new fillets using my originals as patterns. The repaired spinner turned out pretty good.
My next task for the day was to trim the port wheel pant to get additional clearance for the tire. It's pretty good but I think at least one more cut may be necessary to get proper clearance.
