Brief Description:  More propeller fillet trimming and fitting

This afternoon I finished up the propeller fillets, did some final trimming and fitting, and then checked the stop-to-stop pitch to be sure there was no interference as the blades rotated.

I was pleased with the results, perhaps too pleased. Anyway, I picked up the propeller which probably weighs around 50+ pounds and started across the shop to place the unit on one of my workbenches. I promptly tripped and almost damaged my brand new Hartzell prop (a prop strike before it was ever on the plane). As I was headed to the floor all I could think about was SAVE THE PROP. Well, the prop was saved but at the cost of strained muscles and a bloodied face. My face managed to make contact with four of the six mounting bolts.

Luckily, the spinner backplate caught most of the impact and, of course, was destroyed as you can see in the photo.
