Today I finished all the wiring in the two wing tips. I began with the port wing nav, landing, and taxi lights. I had already spliced extra wire to the landing and taxi lights so to complete I cut them to length and terminated with the proper molex connector.
The AeroLed light has five leads. These includes wires for nav (green/red), strobe, strobe sync, and two grounds (one for the lights and one for the body/assembly). These will all plug into the harness already installed in the wing via a molex connector.
Next I fabricated a short coax cable to connect the Archer antenna to the coax in the wing. The antenna end had to have two connectors installed, one for the conductor and another for the shield.
I will need to fabricate a ground strap to tie the Archer antenna to the metal of the wing. The instructions for the antenna suggests sandwiching the antenna between the fiberglass tip and the wing skin but that really doesn't work on the RV wings. I think a braided strap or maybe just a ground wire with good connections at each end will be fine.
