Brief Description: Running conduit & wiring in wings
In preparation for installing the two bottom skins on the wings I ran the nylon conduit thru the ribs from the root to the wing tips. I started in the middle of each wing and worked my way out. I had already drilled the ribs for the conduit but even so, installing the conduit took some time and patience. Once installed I tightened it up just enough to remove any sags.
I installed some retaining washers on each end (outboard) and secured them to the ribs with RTV. I also cut the excess conduit away leaving about 3/4" protruding at each end.
To run wires I tied some fishing line to a cotton ball and blew it thru the conduit with compressed air. Then using the line I pulled coax and 3-conductor shielded wire thru the wings for the ILS/VOR/GS and LED nav/strobe lights. I discovered that the landing and taxi lights required 14 AWG wire so I had to order some but it should arrive in a couple days.
I have determined the basic connector and termination requirements which will be completed once the new wire arrives.
