I am expending considerable time trying to solve my hangar/workshop problem. I need to begin arranging hangar space for my project. Unfortunately, there is no space available in a reasonable driving distance from my home. However, there are some old hangars at KDAY that could possibly be renovated.
I have been gathering quotes from numerous contractors to do the necessary work. The major requirements are gas heat, lighting, electrical service, and a hangar front including both a man door and large hangar door. I am finding the biggest issue to be a suitable door. Forty foot doors are extremely expensive and some would require upgrades to the existing hangar structure.
You can see in the photo below the girder across the front of the hangar where a new wall and door will be installed will require some serious attention.
