I had to relocate the mounting bracket for the blind encoder to get additional room for wiring that had to cross above the encoder box. The actual transponder tray extends within a couple inches of the area where the wiring harness and encoder are located. I wanted to ensure that there was enough free space that no chafing could occur.
By the way, the picture is a little deceiving. The encoder does not come in contact with the brake line you see routed beside and under the box. You will note that there is not a lot of room between the connections on the encoder and the radio fuse block. That is why I plan to use a 90 degree DB15 connector between the encoder abnd the transponder. The static/pitot line should not be an issue but if it becomes a problem I will find a 90 degree fitting for it as well.
