Brief Description: Installed nav/position light wiring in tail cone
The wiring for the nav/position and strobe light was installed in the tail cone today. The wiring consists of a shielded three conductor cable. It will connect to a suntail light from AeroLeds. Similar wires will be run out thru the wings for the nav/position and strobe lights.
I need to contact the folks at AeroLeds and determine if it is absolutely necessary to ground the housing of their suntail light. The suntail lamp attaches to the aft edge of the fiberglass rudder cap. There is no easy way to ground the lamp housing. I thought at first that it might be possible to attach a ground wire to one of the two mounting screws but there just isn't any room on the inside of the fiberglass cap. Hope the grounding is not an absolute.
