I am going to need an engine in the next few months so I decided to visit a local engine shop today to see what might be available. We talked about a couple alternatives, one being a new ECI-Titan XIO-360 kit engine and the other being a high performance engine built from new/used parts. I am looking for something similar to the Lycoming IO-360-M1B. Specific options I am considering include Bendix fuel injection, cold air induction sump, and two P-Mags versus std mags. There are, of course, numerous suppliers including Van's, Mattituck, Penn Yan, Aerosport, etc. Just one more BIG decision to make.
