Brief Description:  Hangar Destroyed

The weather in Ohio has been so hot that working in the shop is unbearable so I decided to take a week and visit one of my boys and his family in Virginia. A couple days after arriving I decided to check my cell phone voice mail and to my surprise there was a message regarding my hangar at Dayton International (DAY). Apparently, the same night of the tragedy at the Indiana Fair a sudden storm swept across the airfield in Dayton and destroyed my hangar. The entire roof, 40' door, the door support structure, and a dozen or so concrete blocks were picked up and dumped in the taxi way in front of the hangar. Amazingly, there was only one dent in the top of the Archer's fuselage where a light fixture came loose and fell on the plane.

The FBO manager took good care of the plane and other items in the hangar but now we have to figure out what to do about a new hangar.
