Brief Description:  Installed fuel selector plate

I decided to do the final fitting of the fuel valve plate and pointer while waiting for additional items to install the brake system. I began by attaching the fuel valve to its mounting brace per the plans and my personal mod to lower the handle/pointer. The slightly lower position of the valve required longer bolts. Since I had no AN3 bolts of the proper length I used a couple std hardware variety bolts cut to the proper length. The std bolts should be fine since this application is not structural. By the way, it was necessary to grind the heads on the bolts down slightly so they wouldn't push up on the mid-cabin cover. The cover must be perfectly flat so the selector plate will sit flush.

Once the plate was positioned, I match drilled two screw holes so it could be attached to the cabin cover with platenuts. The plate was machine countersunk and nutplates were riveted to the cabin cover. The pictures below show the selector valve, plate, and pointer installed in the stock location. I still think it would look better moved forward a bit.
