Brief Description:  Re-clecoed fuselage from inside

It's time to flip the fuselage over to do the skin riveting. The manual says to set it on some low sawhorses and work from underneath and inside the structure.

When I began the shop session today the fuselage looked like a porcupine with all the silver and bronze clecos sticking out. I was afraid the clecos might catch on something when handling the structure so I re-clecoed the fuselage from the inside. I reasoned that if any clecos got serious lateral pressure on them while being flipped it could result in a ding at the rivet hole. I am probably overly cautious but don't intend to take any chances at this point. I have heard too many stories about damaged components just from necessary handling in the shop.

Anyway, it's all reclecoed and ready to flip. Now I just have to decide on low sawhorses, the jig frame it is resting on currently, or possibly a rotisserie device fabricated from a Harbor Freight motor stand or stands (they can be had for about $50). If there are any builders out there with an opinion, please feel free to drop me an email.

While considering the sawhorse question and trying to round up some muscle in the neighborhood to help me move this thing, I think it might be a good idea to mark the rivet sizes on the skins rather than having to check the drawings constantly while actually doing the riveting. Maybe I will do that in my next session.
