Brief Description:  Preparing fuselage parts for final assembly-part 7

Using the dimpling tool fabricated and described in the previous log entry, I dimpled the inboard row of #30 holes in the left and right bottom center skins. The quality of the dimples is as good as those processed with the DRDT or the pneumatic squeezer. The same tool with the longer ram rod was used to get the holes immediately next to the landing gear weldments. Making this little tool eliminated the need to order a 4+" C yoke and saved considerable cash. Thanks to Rick Galati on Van's Air Force Forum for the idea!

All the holes in the cockpit rails were dimpled as appropriate (#40, #30, and #8 screw). I opted to make the aft most #8 screw a -4 rivet to eliminate the potential problem with edge distance and possible cracking of the rail material when dimpling.

The aft ends of the upper longerons were notched and trimmed per the plans. I am now ready to dimple the skins and then it will be on to priming.
