Brief Description:  Match drilled all side and bottom skins

The task for today was to complete all the match drilling of the fuselage side and bottom skins. This included the upper, mid, and lower longerons and all other #40 and #30 holes which must be matched to the internal structure.

The next step in the shop manual says to reposition the fuselage assembly to some short sawhorses to allow easier access to the bottom floor area of the cockpit. Rather than build sawhorses I fabricated a couple short legs with castering rollers that can be attached to the spar spacers. I also built a simple support for the tailcone.

The fuselage structure is too heavy, however, for Connie and I to move from the workbench so I called my number one son for help. Hopefully, the three of us will be able to reposition the fuselage to the shop floor early tomorrow morning so I can begin working on some of the cockpit interior components.

There are a couple pages of tasks to accomplish before the fuselage will be returned to the workbench and disassembled. I must admit that I am not looking forward to all the deburring and dimpling that has to be done when the match drilling is complete.
