Brief Description:  Joining the forward & mid-fuselage sections

The next step was to join the forward and mid-fuselage sections into one assembly. The forward floor skin must slip between the flanges of the center section and the bottom skin of the seat rib assembly. While the fuselage sections are getting heavier, it was fairly easy to join the two sections. The subassemblies were clecoed along both flanges of the center section and the mid-cabin braces were clecoed to create a stable structure.

The last task for the day was to deburr the forward side skins and begin their initial installation on the fuselage. The left skin was clecoed in place with only a llittle effort. All the prepunched holes lined up with just a little persuasion. The skin stiffener was added on the left fuselage skin.

The next task will be to add the right forward skin but unfortunately, I am running low on 1/8" clecos. It looks like many more 1/8" fasteners are going to be needed to complete the fuselage construction. Wish I knew exactly how many will be needed so they could be ordered at one time. Looks like it's time to post a question on Van's Air Force forum. I may have enough to get the right skin into position but certainly not enough to complete this construction step.
