Took a few minutes today and hung the factory sign Connie bought at Oshkosh. When time permits, I plan to change the established date to 2008 when the RV-8 project began.
I also took time to install the windsock in one of the flower beds. As usual, this little project took more time than expected. I had to get a length of galvanized pipe and a couple fittings from Lowes to make the pole. Then, of course, it had to be primed and painted. Because the bottom two feet is planted in the ground I coated the bottom 24" with a plastic material to protect the metal from moisture. I don't know how effective it will be but I coated the pipe with the plastic stuff that is used to coat tool handles in the workshop (can be dipped or brushed). Hopefully, it will last a few seasons.
