Brief Description:  Return from Airventure 2010

Connie and I returned from Oshkosh yesterday, Saturday 31 July. The return trip took a little longer due to heavier than expected traffic in downtown Chicago and an accident on 80 very near the 94 intersection. Even so, we managed the trip home in 8.5 hours versus the 7.5 hours from our home to the EAA Museum in Oshkosh (we drive up and stay at Lawrence University in Appleton). We generally stop at the museum on Sunday to purchase our weekly tickets and check out Pioneer Field.

While I investigated numerous items and products at the convention, I didn't purchase much this year. The only items directly related to my project was a marking tool and the EAA Experimental Aircraft Registration Kit. Connie, however, picked up a metal "Aeroplane Factory" sign for the workshop, a 6" wind sock for one of our flower beds, and a precut instrument panel to be used as a picture frame. Connie also picked up a few items for the grandkids.

If you have followed the news from Oshkosh, you know that an unusually rainy July caused serious problems at the convention site. Even so, there was plenty to see and much to do. We had a good time and are already looking forward to next year.
