Brief Description:  Begin forward fuselage sub structure

It was a long day in the shop but much was accomplished. First, both landing gear box assemblies were completed and riveted to the floor structure. All the bolts were put in place but have not been torqued to the final setting. The upper and mid-cabin braces were installed as was the throttle quadrant bracket.

Once the boxes were complete, I moved to the forward fuselage sub structure. The upper and lower baggage bulkheads, baggage floor, and baggage side were completed and temporarily clecoed in place. All appropriate nutplates and stiffeners have been installed. The last task for the day was to cleco the firewall in place for the first time.

During the next session I will match drill the firewall angle to the floor, do the necessary countersinking and dimpling, and rivet the firewall to the floor. Then, it will be on to the center section.

By the way, you will see from the pictures that I am keeping the protective plastic coating in place as long as possible during the build. Trust me, I have not assembled any components nefore removing the appropriate plastic.
