Brief Description:  More counting and put away parts

Finally, I got some serious time in the shop today. First task was to find a way to store all the fuselage components and still have the necessary room to work in the shop. I cannot work in a cramped or cluttered shop, it's just a personal thing. I decided to build another suspended shelf hanging beneath one of the empennage shelves to hold some of the long skins and other components.

The two drawers under my workbenches accomodated most of the smaller parts. One of the open shelves under the workbench contains the aluminum formed parts. Finally, the long side skins for the fuselage were stored between two large sheets of cardboard (packing material in the crate) and placed up against the shop wall. I now have plenty of space for building the fuselage. In summary, the tail components and some fusleage parts are on the suspended shelves, the wings are in their cradle against one wall, and the majority of the fuselage parts are under the workbenches. So far, a two car garage is working fine as an airplane factory.

The rest of the day was spent counting the parts in the bundled sub kits. Once again, everything appears to be present. Van's really does a good job picking, crating, and shipping their product. I might also mention that ABF, the freight company, does an excellent job on the shipping and handling side. This is, of course, my second big shipment and everything arrived in excellent shape and in a timely fashion. In addition, I think the cost has been reasonable.
