I did not have a hone small enough to fit inside the tube for the sliding contacts so I canibalized my engine cylinder hone for single arm use. I wrapped the back side of it with scotchbrite and the results were astounding!
Little by little it smothed the internals of the sliding assemblies and once I cleaned them up, they are sliding amaizingly smoothe. There will be NO issues with adjusting these once they are installed.
