Brief Description:  Aft Top Skins and Baggage Bulkhead

I started today by clecoing on the aft top skins so I could work on the baggage bulkhead. I cut the radius on the top half and drilled and fitted both halves. I haven't made the rub strips for the shoulder harness yet. I spent some time trying to figure out how best to accomodate a set of golf clubs in the baggage compartment. I think I'm going to frame an opening on the right side of the bell crank channel and make a removeable panel in the lower baggage bulkhead. I may order one more seat back skin to use for that. I won't use the extra depth very often so I think I'll make a cover to match the bulkhead. Then I fit and drilled both baggage side covers. I left off the tie downs that Van's suggest. It seems to me that they are to high. I think I'll buy a couple of 1/4" nut plates and make a place for some tie down rings midway up on the joint between the forward and aft side cover. The forward one is removeable and the tie down ring will need to be able to be removed if I put it there.
