Brief Description:  More Center Section

Today I spent the whole day finishing up the center section. I finally figured out how to flute the corner ribs (F-623). I got the side skins out and temp. clecoed them in place in order to mark the hole locations in the corner ribs so I wouldn't flute over a hole. It worked great. I made the attachment plates for both the front and rear of them and drilled the bottom skin. I mounted the front half of the F704 and drilled and countersunk the skin to it. There are 5 places on each side that get double flush riveted so after I take it back apart, I'll have to countersink the inside of the bottom flange to allow the landing gear mounts to rest flat on the spar. I'll look it over again tomorrow evening and then dissassemble for dimpling, deburring and priming. I hope I can prime both the center section and the aft fuselage next weekend so I can get something put together permanently.

I purchased the first part of my instrument panel on Friday. A builder in AZ had a complete Dynon D-100 that he decided he wasn't going to use and we agreed on a purchase price. It's never been installed and has 1 year of warranty left. I'm going to take it to a friend of mine who has one just like it mounted and try to talk him into switching them out to ensure there's no reason to send it back to Dynon.
