This afternoon, I cleaned up the shop and started putting things back together. I hadn't tapped the bracket for the tie down ring so I started with that. Then I riveted the F-711 and F-712 to the tail cone skin. That let me then cleco the remaining bulkheads to the bottom skin. After that I clecoed the side skins and stiffners together. Everything went together really well. I got out the rivet gun and started on the stiffners and only got 3 done before the rivet gun crapped out. It just wouldn't shoot. I took it apart thinking it needed cleaning and that was a waste of time. Tim Pethol is building an 8A just up the road so I'm going to borrow his till I can get a new one. I bought the tool kit from The Yard. I guess sometimes you just can't save any money. I already knew that, but sometimes you kind of conviently forget those lessons.
