Brief Description:  Flaps

Today, I epoxied the trailing edge of the left flap. I mixed it up and put it in a syringe and spread it sparingly on the bottom skin and on the top of the wedge, then slid it in place. I clecoed it to the holes in the flat table where I had previously drilled the wedge. This is holding it really flat and straight so, hopefully, I won't have a twist in it. After that was done, I riveted the skeleton for the right flap. At noon I had to leave to go to the Enterprise airport for our EAA Chapter meeting. We met a Rob's hanger where he's well on the way on an RV-10. He bought the quickbuild kit and has the wings done and is working on the fuselage. He has purchased an engine (IO-540) and already has it. He has used some interesting material on the foreward side of his firewall to help protect against fire and heat. He told me that he ordered it from Spruce and that it was used extensively on race cars. Two hangers down is where Carey Mills (?) , a repeat (RV-4) builder and Heath are building an RV-7 and RV-8 respectively. They have just "tipped the canoe" on their fuselages and are making great headway. I looked the RV-7 over very closely as it's really close to mine. As it turns out, we're both finishing them with mostly the same panel. I'm going to go back up there next Saturday and see them again.
