Brief Description:  Started Left Aileron

Today I started by building a really FLAT table to build the flaps and ailerons on. I picked up a couple of pieces of 3" Aluminum channel and used a piece of MDF that I had left over and built a table top that's about 14" x 8'. The directions say 2 x 8 but I can't see why it needs to be that wide. I looked at several web sites and most didn't use anything other than the sides to the wing crate so I'm sure it's fine. I got the the spar, nose ribs and the counterbalance tube clecoed together then fabbed all the stiffners for the skins for both wings at once. It just didn't make any sense to just do the 14 I needed. Then I match drilled them to their respective skins and primed them. They will be dry enough tomorrow evening to continue. The last thing I did today was put the balloon on the right tank and put some air in it to test it. Since I had tested it with water up to the baffle line, I only sprayed some soapy water around the balloon and the baffle. Initial indications are that I have my second leak free tank. I sure hope so, I'll be glad to be done prosealing.
