This afternoon, rather than sitting around after a GREAT Christmas, we worked on the plane a little while. After the kids left we went to the barn and proceeded to rivet a couple of ribs worth of top skin rivets. We started with Reva holding a large round bucking bar that my friend that is building an 8 loaned me and I backriveted with the long offset tool I purchased from Avery. Quite honestly, it seemed like the rivets all wanted to tip or clench no matter how I held the offset tool. We then tried to shoot some from the front with Reva on a bar on the inside. That made a HUGE difference. I drilled out the ones that didn't suit me from the backriveting and we finished 2 ribs before calling it a day.
