Brief Description:  Mating Leading Edge to Spar

This evening I started by painting the inside of the skin where the landing light goes. I picked up some white spray paint and sprayed it. I thought that it might reflect better off the white than the green primer that was on it. When that was dry, I put the LE on the wing and clecoed the ribs to the spar then the spanwise row of rivets. I put them in every other hole down the span, thinking that I could then rivet every other one. Jim came over and we shot the outboard two ribs to the spar. Several websites said you could squeeze them but I didn't have enough room with either the pneumatic or hand squeezer. They wouldn't get perpendicular either place and at that point I just got the rivet gun out and shot them while Jim bucked them. His hand wouldn't go throught the lightening holes nor would mine to get to the 3rd rib from the outboard end. He had to go home and Reva came out. We did the inboard two ribs. I'm not much on bucking "blind" but it worked. We left the middle three for the next session.
