Brief Description:  Started on Tanks

I got back from Texas last evening in time to see the Homecoming Game here at the high school. Today I started out about 11:00 after unpacking and visiting a couple of people here. I had a good time in Texas as I got to go to Hicks Field and see Avery Tools and was fortunate to see Jay Pratt. He graciously spent about 2-1/2 hours with me talking RV's. Those guys that fly out of there are so lucky to have such a good group of people around.Anyway, I started on the left tank today. While reading the instructions, I gathered that the dimensions on the tank attach brackets were very critical so I set them up in my mill and used it to drill the first hole in each flange. While they were in there and the chuck was exactly where it was supposed to be, I chucked a sharpie in it and marked the center line EXACTLY thru the center of the hole for the length of both flanges. Sure was easy to get correct that way. When they were all done I attempted to pop rivet on the brackets per the instructions only to find out that my pop riveter wouldn't get close enough. It's a good one so I didn't want to "modify" it. I went to the hardware store and bought a cheap one. While looking for the prescribed pop rivets, I found that I had some bags that hadn't been put away so I finished the day doing that.
