Brief Description:  Worked on Bottom skins

I started the day by finishing up the drilling on the right bottom skins. I removed the blue plastic on both sets of bottom skins and before putting them away, I deburred all the holes and edges. Also I beveled the edges where the outboard skin overlaps the inboard. It didn't seem like I got much done for all the hours I worked, but there's a lot of holes to deburr and I studied the plans for quit some time before beveling the skins. When I finished, I put them both back on temporarily to see how the beveling did. It really looks like it's going to be good. It's hard to tell till I get the tanks on and it may need a little more work, but I'm leaving them as they are till the tanks are done. We went to SERFI yesterday and saw alot of airplanes. There were alot of 8's there and one even from Iowa. I talked to both the fellows that brought it down. One of them is from Durango and the other from Kellog. We talked along time about "home". Also looked at a 6A from Tenn. that had a "forced" air system to help keep him cool on the ground. I wish now I would have talked to him more but we looked at the pictures and I have his "N" number so I suspect I can contact him. Also saw a couple of 9's, but not their owner's. One of the reason's I'm trying to make the beveling look good is because several of the ones we saw didn't appear to have much beveling done and the wing skins stood pretty proud of the tank skins. I'm sure it doesn't make any difference structurally, but it would look better if they were nearer to flush. I have to remember that I'm pretty picky about those kind of things and that maybe I can't do any better.
