Brief Description:  Continued on Rear Spar

After deciding that I did place and drill the W907E on the rear spar incorrectly I ordered two new ones today. They were only $1.77 each and I really wanted to order the Duckworks landing light kits and the wing conduit anyway. I decided on the Duckworks after doing a lot of research on the web. It seems that the wing tip landing lights don't do alot of good out in front of the plane and while I like the landing light in the cowl on the Cherokee, I'm not going to experiment quite that much. I really don't think I'm going to like the fiberglass work anyway. As far as the conduit goes, I've looked in the Aviation department in the Ace hardware here in town and they don't have anything that I think will work any better than what Van's sells. I'm sure if I would drive to Enterprise or Dothan, I could find something, but my time is worth something to me let alone the gas prices.I could have made the doublers work, but I'm trying to do this as well as possible and while I feel confident that the fix would have been structurally sound, I went ahead and ordered the new ones.I finished fitting and putting the aileron push rod holes in the inner doublers and clecoed the inboard doublers on for match drilling tomorrow. I sent Van's a note asking for a replacement for Drawing 11 today. I can't read the rivet callouts on mine. It appears that it's been copied so many times that the lines have run together pretty badly.I asked them to send it via e-mail in either .dwg or .dxf since I can plot it out at work. We'll see what they do. I don't have much hope for it.
