Brief Description:  More Right Elevator

Continued work on the right elevator. My son Jim came over and helped me rivet the stiffners on the top skin and then rivet the top skin to the spar. That is, without question, the hardest rivet shooting to date. It just didn't seem like I could put the bucking bar in the right place. I taped it all up to keep from damaging the bottom skin and scratching the primer and I succeeded in doing that. I think we only had to drill out 2 rivets. I need to remember that the air pressure is critical when shooting rivets. It seems that on the A426-3-3.5's that 40lbs. works the best with this 2x gun.I was sure glad Jim came over or I would have struggled all evening. Decided to quit when he had to leave. The stress level was pretty high for me and it was a good stopping point. I got an e-mail from Van's today letting me know that they had not shipped the wings yet though they had charged me for them. They told me they would send me a PRO number when they shipped. I still think they are going to be here before the elevators are done. Just 14 more days till my trip to Phoenix for golf and I can't wait.
