GAM came south again today to give me a hand, thank you. Gary did lots of painting of parts requiring mating surface preparation whilst I fiddled with the area where the centre & rear fuselage sections join, we think we'll do it a little different to the build manual by fitting the rear spar carry through to the rear fuselage prior to joining the sections. One of the many taildragger specific challenges is installing rivets tail down on the main landing gear channel as it forms part of the cockpit floor. We did a trial fit of the gear in the channel & found we needed to trim the gear leg along both upper edges, I had contact with the factory regarding this issue & have followed their guidelines. I then painted the trimmed fibreglass in order to provide some protection of the rovings.
