Over the past few days I've been making a support mechanism for the avionics wiring. I have no room beneath or above the EFIS screens for wiring to run laterally from the centre mounted instruments, radio, etc. & I don't want to have a shelf as that would make future maintenance of fuel hoses, engine control cables & so on more difficult due to lack of access. I have made two brackets that hold a carbon fibre tube that will support some wiring between the panel and rib 3, they will also support wiring coming from both ends of the panel forward. I have a 6mm OD tube installed at the moment but that is a little too flexible so I have ordered a 10mm OD tube that should be much stiffer. The brackets are each 2 pieces of 1mm thick 6061-T6 riveted together that were alodined & primed prior to riveting. They are mounted to the structure utilising the ground bus rubber isolation mounts.
