I want to have as many power source options as possible to power at least one fuel pump & the TCU. To that end, over the past week or so I have been drawing various wiring layouts & have decided to use the method described in Bob Nuckolls book "The AeroElectric Connection" utilising a diode, heatsink, switch, fuse & relay to power an "Essential Bus". I've been spending a lot of time at the computer shopping for the required components, most of which need to be imported. Some parts have arrived but I'm waiting on many more. I've done some testing of the diode & it appears that there is a loss of about 1 volt at the proposed load. That will not be a problem when the generator/alternator is operating but it may prove problematic prior to engine start. Much more testing to be done.
