Brief Description: Traffic & Communication Radio Set-up
Today I spent a few hours setting up the traffic displays & comm. radio audio. The PowerFlarm Core unit requires configuring via an online tool & an annual firmware update, both loaded via a USB dongle. As this is a new unit, both these tasks were completed today & the G3X is indicating that all is well. The dedicated traffic display (LXNav TrafficView80) is also operating as expected. The GTR200 is the only comm. radio installed & I will be utilising its excellent intercom, without headset & press to talk wiring installed yet I can't do much beyond setting up the initial selections.
I'm using a 12V power supply to power the system as it doesn't take long to flatten an 18 amp hour battery. Although it's rated as a 12V supply it is in fact supplying 13.5V which I think is perfect for the task.
