Yesterday I started fitting the new fibreglass tip to the right wing. The bottom edge of the tip required a lot of trimming to enable it to fit properly & at the correct angle. These tips are slightly different to my originals in that they have a re-inforcing ridge of fibreglass adjacent to the edge. Unfortunately I needed to trim up to this ridge leaving no flat area to rivet through. Today I cut a length of rope & some fibreglass tape then resined them in place to form a new ridge. Hopefully this will give enough rigidity to maintain the shape of the tip as I will need to remove the original ridge to form a flat section through which to rivet.
